Q'eros

the eagle hunters of Mongolia

In our first Cult-Ed class we take you to the Kazakhs in Mongolia. Mongolia is located in Asia and borders the countries of China, Russia and Kazakhstan. Mongolia has one of the most extreme continental climates in the world, making it very dry and with little vegetation

The Kazakhs are semi-nomads and have no permanent home or residence. They live in a type of tent which is called a ger or yurt. They keep relocating to ensure that their livestock such as goats, sheep, horses and camels have enough to eat in the dry landscape.

The Kazakhs are the eagle hunters of Mongolia. When you’re old, wise and strong enough as a child, you are allowed to choose an eagle and start training. Eagles have incredibly good eyes and can spot something from a great height. They are taught to hunt rabbits, foxes and wolves. Everything from the animal is used. Cutlery can be made from a bone coats, pants, gloves or hats from the fur and the meat is for eating.

Do you want to know everything about the eagle hunters of Mongolia? Then go on a trip to the Kazakhs!
